The Toronto Blue Jays have placed infielder Brett Lawrie on the 15-day disabled list with a broken right index finger. Lawrie was hit on the hand by Cincinnati pitcher Johnny Cueto in the second inning of Sundays 4-3 loss to the Reds. He exited the game and x-rays later showed a fracture in the finger. The 24-year-old has hit .244 with a career-high 12 home runs and 38 RBI in 69 games this season. Also, the Blue Jays optioned catcher Erik Kratz to Triple-A Buffalo.
