Anthony Gose could be in the lineup tonight when the Toronto Blue Jays visit the Tampa Bay Rays tonight to kick off a three-game set at Tropicana Field. The Jays announced Thursday night that the 22-year-old outfield prospect would be recalled from Triple-A Buffalo, while right-handed reliever Mickey Storey was going back down. With Melky Cabrera and Colby Rasmus on the disabled list, Gose is expected to share time with Rajai Davis in centre field. R.A. Dickey, who is 9-11 with a 4.46 ERA, starts on the mound for Toronto. Dickey did not get a decision on Sunday against Oakland, as he surrendered three runs and six hits in seven frames of his teams 6-4 loss. Dickey has faced the Rays 11 times (7 starts) and is 3-3 with a 3.99 ERA against them. Toronto earned a series win over Boston on Thursday, as Mark Buehrle tossed seven innings of one-run baseball and the Blue Jays scored twice in the seventh inning to claim a 2-1 victory over the Red Sox. Buehrle (9-7) gave up 10 hits while striking out four for the Blue Jays, who have won two in a row since a three-game skid. Tampa Bay is 8-5 against the Jays this season and will try to make it three victories in a row. Tampa put the brakes on a six-game losing streak by winning the final two of their three-game series with the Seattle Mariners. On Thursday, Evan Longorias two-run homer in the fifth inning helped lift Tampa Bay to a 7-1 win. Wil Myers went 3-for-4 with four RBI while crossing the plate twice for the Rays, who are two games back of the Boston Red Sox in the American League East. Alex Cobb (7-2) tossed five innings in his first game back from the disabled list. Cobb landed on the DL after being struck on his right ear by a line drive in a game against Kansas City on June 15. The right-hander only gave up one run on three hits while fanning six batters. "It was awesome," Cobb said of returning to the mound. "Its a feeling you cant duplicate anywhere else but being out on the mound and competing at the big league level." Getting the call for the Rays will be righty Jeremy Hellickson, who is 10-6 with a 4.93 ERA. Hellickson lost his third straight start on Sunday in Los Angeles, as the Dodgers reached him for four runs and seven hits in only three innings. "Hopefully, I can figure it out (Friday)," Hellickson said. "I feel good. My stuff feels good. I just have to throw more strikes and have better command. If Im able to do that, Ill be OK." Hellickson beat the Jays the last time he faced them and is 5-2 lifetime against them with a 2.74 ERA in 10 starts. Christian Pulisic Dortmund Jersey . City has reached new heights under manager Manuel Pellegrini as they transition from big spending/immediate impact to perennial contender. Yaya Toures seeming discontent Tuesday may complicate that, as does the little issue of Financial Fair Play. Shinji Kagawa Dortmund Jersey . The start of the seasons fifth and final major was delayed two hours due to heavy rain in the area. The tournament eventually began, but with water on the greens and the rain persisting, players were called back to the clubhouse less than an hour after the first group teed off. http://www.footballdortmundpro.com/Kids-...chlagel-Jersey/. Not that he was complaining. Davis had 13 points, nine rebounds and a career-high eight blocks, and the New Orleans Pelicans emphatically snapped a three-game skid with a 135-98 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night. Julian Weigl Dortmund Jersey .com) - The Calgary Flames are spoilers once again. Sergio Gomez Dortmund Jersey .com) - The Atlanta Hawks have stepped up to every challenge during their 14-game winning streak and will face another daunting task Friday with Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder in town. MANAUS, Brazil -- With Cristiano Ronaldo on the field, a one-goal lead is never safe. The world player of the year rarely sparkled on a hot and humid night in the jungle, but his inch-perfect stoppage-time cross set up Varela for the equalizing goal Sunday in Portugals 2-2 draw against the United States at the World Cup. The Real Madrid winger, who has been playing despite a left knee injury, showed flashes of his best, but his impact was minimal until the final seconds of the match. He curled the ball in to a diving Varela, who headed past Tim Howard to give the Portuguese team a slim hope of advancing to the second round and deny the Americans instant advancement. "He made a great cross," said Howard, Ronaldos former teammate from their days at Manchester United. "Footballs cruel sometimes." The United States now has four points in Group G, the same as Germany. Both Portugal and Ghana have one point. The Americans will face Germany on Thursday in Recife, while Portugal takes on Ghana at the same time in Brasilia. "Obviously were disappointed, but at the end of the day youve got to look at the positives, we got a point," said United States captain Clint Dempsey, who scored to give the Americans a 2-1 lead in the 81st. "Its going down to the last game and hopefully we get the job done." Nani scored first for Portugal, shooting past a sprawling Howard in the fifth minute. But the Americans responded in the second half as Portugal seemed to wilt in the stifling heat. Jermaine Jones made it 1-1 with a curling shot in the 64th after a cross from Graham Zusi made its way through the Portugal defence. And Dempsey, playing with a broken nose, then put the Americans ahead, using his stomach to direct the ball into the net from a cross by Zusi. "Now we have to go out and beat Germany, thats what we have to do," U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann said. "We have to play Germany, we have one less day to recover, we played in the Amazon, they played on a place with less travel. We hhave to do it the tough way.dddddddddddd" Dempseys goal was his fourth at a World Cup and second at this years tournament. Jones scored his third goal for the United States national team and first in almost two years. It was all Portugal for much of the first half, with Ronaldo in the starting lineup but getting less involved as the match progressed. The Americans, however, started to get more and more chances and even had a shot from Michael Bradley cleared off the line by Ricardo Costa in the 55th. "There didnt seem to be any problem with Cristiano Ronaldo," Portugal coach Paulo Bento said. "What happened during the game has something to do with our other players." The heat in the Amazon rainforest, however, seemed to slow the Portuguese as the match wore on. In the 39th minute, referee Nestor Pitana of Argentina called for a cooling break, the first such decision to be taken at this World Cup. At the start of the match, FIFA listed the temperature at 30 degrees C (86 degrees F) with 66 per cent humidity. FIFA uses the "Wet Bulb Globe Temperature" to determine when official cooling breaks should be added, and says the WGBT must be above 32 degrees C (90 degrees F) for them to be considered. The breaks are supposed to occur in the 30th and 75th minutes. There was no break in the second half, but that didnt stop Ronaldo from creating the final goal. "It was a thriller," Klinsmann said. "Everybody who had a chance to be today in Manaus will talk about this game for a long time." ------ Lineups United States: Tim Howard; Fabian Johnson, Geoff Cameron, Matt Besler, DaMarcus Beasley; Kyle Beckerman, Jermaine Jones, Alejandro Bedoya (DeAndre Yedlin, 72), Michael Bradley, Graham Zusi (Omar Gonzalez, 90); Clint Dempsey (Chris Wondolowski, 87). Portugal: Beto; Andre Almeida (William Carvalho, 46), Ricardo Costa, Bruno Alves, Joao Pereira; Miguel Veloso, Joao Moutinho, Raul Meireles (Varela, 69th), Nani, Cristiano Ronaldo; Helder Postiga (Eder, 16th).
