DENVER -- Matt Kemp and Josh Beckett made sure the Los Angeles Dodgers had plenty to celebrate heading into their showdown with the Detroit Tigers. Kemp had four hits and drove in two runs, and Beckett tossed five scoreless innings and chipped in with a double as the Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 8-2 on Sunday. Adrian Gonzalez had three RBIs and Juan Uribe added three hits for the Dodgers, who won three of four in the weekend series. They head to AL Central-leading Detroit in first place in the NL West, a half-game ahead of San Francisco. "To win the first two and then lose yesterday, if you dont win today then youve had a negative series in my mind," manager Don Mattingly said. All-Star rosters were unveiled during the game, and the Dodgers were well-represented with four players. Right fielder Yasiel Puig was voted in as a starter, and second baseman Dee Gordon made it as a reserve. Starting pitchers Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke were also picked. "Im really excited I get to do it again, really excited for Puig and Dee, the first-time guys, and with Greinke," Kershaw said. "Ive never gotten to go with four of my own teammates before, so thats pretty cool." Beckett was left off the National League roster. Kershaw is a candidate to start the game, but said hes just happy to be going for the fourth time. "Id love to do it," Kershaw said. "Obviously, there are a ton of great candidates. Ill be fine either way. Definitely (would) be something cool to do." Colorado shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, an All-Star starter with an NL-best 5.3 million votes, scored both runs for the Rockies. Charlie Blackmon was named to the team as a reserve outfielder. "That has some extra meaning," Tulowitzki said. "A couple years Ive been chosen by the players and thats always an honour. This year the fans really stepped up and really supported me." Colorado was 26-20 on May 20 but has lost 17 of 20 to fall to within a half-game of last place in the NL West. The Rockies are 5-15 at Coors Field since June 3. Beckett (6-5) allowed three hits before leaving after aggravating his sore left hip while running the bases in the fifth. "It was the start and stop. I just kind of tweaked it," he said. Its been bothering me for a few weeks." Dodgers starters had gone 39 consecutive games with two or fewer walks allowed, but that streak ended when Beckett walked three. Hyun-Jin Ryu was the last Los Angeles starter to walk more than two when he had five on May 26. "I knew if it got to me it was going to end," Beckett said. "I dont have the stuff to pitch here and not peck around the strike zone." Beckett made up for ending the streak with a one-out double that started a five-run fifth. Gordon singled and Puig walked to load the bases. Gonzalez had a two-run single, Kemp followed with an RBI single and Scott Van Slyke walked. "Josh was good and gets us going with his bat," Mattingly said. "That double really gets us going." Uribe singled to third off reliever Brooks Brown, scoring Gonzalez on a play at the plate. Umpire Jeff Kellogg called Gonzalez out, but it was overturned after a review that took 1 minute, 28 seconds. Brown hit Miguel Rojas with a pitch to score Kemp and make it 5-0. "We swung the bats well, put up some runs for Beckett," Kemp said. "It was a good offensive series for us." Colorado left-hander Yohan Flande (0-2) allowed five runs in 4 1-3 innings. "He was throwing the ball well and then he ran into some trouble in the fifth," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. "Until that point he had been pretty much cruising." The Rockies scored an unearned run in the sixth off reliever Chris Perez and another off Brian Wilson in the eighth. Kemps fourth hit of the day capped a three-run eighth that made it 8-1. Rafael Marquez Jersey . "Youre next." Hardly. Iguodala tormented his former team with a game better than any he ever played in eight seasons with the 76ers. Jesus Manuel Corona Jersey . First reported by FOX Sports Ken Rosenthal, its unknown if the impetus for the deferral proposal came from players or management, but it never left the preliminary stages.TORONTO - Booed off the ice at the second intermission, the Toronto Maple Leafs watched another blue and white jersey get hurled to the ice in the third period. They werent happy about that or their performance in a 4-1 loss to the Detroit Red Wings.Any time you lose in the National Hockey League, as players, were not happy about it, captain Dion Phaneuf said Friday night. The fans have a right to be upset. They come to support us, they want to see winning hockey and we want to win for them. But when we dont play well, its unfortunate when jerseys are thrown on the ice.It was a night of frustrating turnovers, penalties and missed assignments for the Leafs (2-3-0) as they hung goaltender James Reimer out to dry. Coach Randy Carlyle estimated his team turned the puck over 11 times and went offside four times just in the first period. For whatever reason, we find ways to make life more difficult for ourselves, and thats the most frustrating part, Carlyle said. We played too much on our heels and in the defensive zone.Defenceman Jake Gardiner said, it seemed like (the Red Wings) had more players on the ice than we did.Thats never a good sign.It didnt help that Henrik Zetterberg was at his best, finishing with four assists including the primary one on each of the Red Wings first three goals. The captain called his last game Wednesday against the Boston Bruins one of the worst of his career and avenged it in a major way against the Leafs. It was nice to feel better today and bounce back a little bit, Zetterberg said.Zetterberg took advantage of a turnover by Roman Polak to set up Johan Franzens first of the night, then made the most of a bad change by Morgan Rielly for Franzens second. Zetterberg won a race to a puck on Nyquists fourth goal in four games this season, and he picked up a secondary assist on Justin Abdelkaders goal with Cody Franson standing frozen in front of the net.Detroit coach Mike Babcock called Zetterberg his teams catalyst. Jimmy Howard made 23 saves but wasnt tested much in goal.Down at the other end, Reimer wasnt at his sharpest in allowing four goals on 35 shots.I dont think we played up to the standard that were capable of, and myself included, said Reimer, who was making his third straight start. I got to find a way to come up with a couple big saves there to keep it close.Carlyle, whose comment about Reimers play being OK, just OK in a game late last season at the Red Wings caused an uproar, absolved his goaltender of much of the blame in this loss. Two goals were goal-mouth passes so we oobviously missed assignments, Carlyle said.ddddddddddddYou cant blame your goalie for scoring from the crease, tap-ins.Jonathan Bernier is expected to start when the Leafs visit Joe Louis Arena on Saturday night for the second half of this back-to-back. Babcock said ex-Leafs goaltender Jonas Gustavsson will get the nod for the Red Wings (2-1-1).The Leafs will not have winger Brandon Kozun for that game and quite possibly for a long time after he suffered what appeared to be a high-ankle sprain. Carlyle said Kozun will have an MRI on his left ankle Saturday, something that means either Matt Frattin or Carter Ashton will be in the lineup in Detroit. It could be both if forward Daniel Winnik, who left the game with an upper-body injury, cannot play.Kozun was the most pleasant surprise of training camp and had been one of the Leafs best penalty-killers so far this season. He was part of Torontos 5-for-5 effort Friday night before getting injured.Franzen, whose two goals were his first of the season, left in the second period with leg spasms but said hell probably play Saturday. It just cramped up, the whole side, a really tight spasm, Franzen said. It relaxed a little bit, I got out for the next shift and it just seized up on me. As soon as I pushed it just cramped up on me, so hopefully it goes away tomorrow.Mike Santorelli scored the Leafs only goal, infusing some life into Air Canada Centre 21 seconds into the third. It quickly dissipated, and then more than halfway through a fan tossed his jersey onto the ice.Its the second time in four home games this season that a fan has done that. Its not the majority of fans, its one or two fans that are displeased and they want to show their displeasure that way, but I dont agree with it, Phaneuf said. Not agreeing with it doesnt mean Phaneuf disagreed with the displeasure itself. Other than the penalty kill, there wasnt much for the Leafs to be thrilled about in this defeat.Every game things arent going to go our way, Phaneuf said. When the momentum shifted against us, it seemed to be a hill that we just couldnt overcome and we have to work on that.Notes — This was the first of eight Friday night games for the Leafs this season and first of three at Air Canada Centre. In the past nine seasons dating to the 2004-05 lockout, Toronto hosted a total of three Friday night games. ... Several new Canadian citizens were sworn in at a ceremony at centre ice earlier in the day, and they helped anthem singer Doug Tranquada sing O Canada.---Follow @SWhyno on Twitter ' ' '
